Welcome to the Chris Janet State Farm Agent office in Waukesha, Wisconsin! State Farm has been part of my professional life since 1998, and today my team and I help individuals, families, and business owners understand their insurance options as their lives and needs change.

My experience began as an Auto and Injury Adjuster before I became a State Farm Agent. I opened my current Waukesha agency in September 2016, bringing a background in Risk Management and Human Resources to the conversations we have with customers today.

Waukesha is our home base, but our reach extends across the Midwest. I am licensed in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Iowa, which allows our office to work with customers whose homes, vehicles, businesses, families, or moves cross state lines.

🤝 Second Generation Experience, a Path of My Own: Meet Chris

State Farm has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father has been a State Farm Agent for 50 years, and growing up I had the opportunity to see the relationships he built with families in his community. Watching customers return through different stages of life influenced the type of agency I eventually wanted to build.

At the same time, it was important to me to develop experience of my own. I joined State Farm in 1998 and worked as an Auto and Injury Adjuster, gaining firsthand experience with another side of the insurance business before becoming an agent. My education in Risk Management and professional experience in Human Resources added other perspectives that continue to influence how I approach customer conversations.

My family and I have lived in Waukesha County for the past 10 years, and we are raising our family here. I currently live in Brookfield, while downtown Waukesha has become an important part of both my professional life and my connection to the broader community.

Experience extends across our office, too. Christy brings seven years of insurance experience, Carissa brings five years, and I bring 28 years, giving our current team approximately 40 years of combined experience.

When someone contacts our office, we do not want to jump immediately into products. We start by asking questions. We want to understand people on a human level, learn what they currently have and why, and explain the choices available so they can make informed decisions.

And if you visit in person, there is a good chance Bailee, our beagle mix and office mascot, will greet you before rolling over in hopes of a belly rub.

Being part of downtown Waukesha gives me opportunities to connect with the community beyond the walls of our office. I serve as President of the Waukesha Downtown Business Association, working directly with business owners and community leaders on events, initiatives, and ways to keep downtown active and connected.

A big part of my role involves helping run downtown events. The Waukesha Farmers Market and Friday Night Live are personal favorites because they bring together local businesses, residents, and visitors while showcasing the energy that makes downtown Waukesha distinctive.

I am also a former member of the Waukesha County Business Alliance and a supporter of the Waukesha Area Chamber of Commerce. Outside the business community, I am proud to support Brookfield Glacier girls hockey.

That involvement gives me another perspective on the families, organizations, and businesses that make Waukesha County home.
